Live Music — With a Focus on DFW Artists

Music is a major part of the weekend, with performances across multiple stages and an emphasis on giving both emerging and established North Texas musicians a place to be heard.

Organizers say the festival is designed to showcase original music and the variety of artists working across the Dallas-Fort Worth music scene. The Creatives Factory leads the festival's artist development and music programming.

So this isn't just a giant touring act dropped into downtown. The point is to put some of the talent already creating music around North Texas in front of a bigger audience.

Watch Nine Murals Come to Life

One of the coolest parts of DDAMF might happen away from the stages.

The festival's LIVE Walls project will put nine artists in front of nine giant 8-foot-by-12-foot walls, where they'll create murals throughout the weekend. Festivalgoers can watch the pieces develop from the first strokes through the finished artwork and meet the artists behind them.

The 2026 mural artists include Honest, Bwaresparks, Kema, Raytrill, JoeSkilz, Sergio Garcia, Tex, Soner and Adalyn Marie Arce.

There's also a live art installation involving an 8-by-10-foot Tuff Shed and a mobile Box Truck Galleries activation, expanding the art beyond traditional canvases and gallery walls.

Food Trucks, Local Makers and More

You probably won't have to wander very far when you get hungry.

Organizers are bringing food trucks and culinary vendors into Main Street Garden along with local makers, small businesses, creative brands and pop-up activations. Voodoo Doughnut is also scheduled to hand out complimentary doughnut samples while supplies last.

Visit Dallas lists DDAMF among its featured things to do this week, highlighting the live performances, food trucks and visual-art showcases happening around Main Street Garden.

The Weekend Actually Starts Before Saturday

There are a couple of events leading into the main outdoor festival.

A DDAMF VIP Celebration is scheduled Thursday, September 10, from 6–9 p.m. at SPACE at Adolphus Tower, 1412 Main Street.

Then Friday night, Dallas College's CROSSOVER exhibition runs from 6–9 p.m. at the same location. The exhibition brings together work in graphic design, interior design, fashion, motion media, installations, new media and visual arts from Dallas College students, faculty and members of the broader creative community.

Want to Start Saturday With a Workout?

Here's one extra event you don't normally see attached to an arts festival.

SWEAT440 Dallas Uptown is hosting a free 40-minute full-body workout at Main Street Garden at 9 a.m. Saturday, three hours before the festival officially opens. Organizers say it's designed for all fitness levels.

The festival is another chance to spend a weekend in the middle of downtown without making the entire day about one attraction. You can catch a band, watch a mural being painted, grab something from a food truck and wander through work from DFW artists — all in the same afternoon.

And if live music is already part of your weekend, keep Dallas/Fort Worth's NEW Hit Music — B96 streaming on the way there.
