When I wrote about B96’s first anniversary, I hinted that something bigger was coming. Now I can share it.

B96 is part of the Audilous Digital Radio Network, and I’m joining as Director of Operations.

10 hits in a row. Every hour.

Joining Audilous has also brought a new voice to B96. Chloe D, who owns The Summit—playing ’90s, 2K, and today on Audilous—now hosts B96 middays from 10a-2p. It’s one of the first ways this connection is bringing fellow independent broadcasters together.

“Audilous brings independently owned stations together with programming, technology, distribution, and business support—while allowing each station to keep its own identity.”

For me, that means being part of a growing community of independent broadcasters—and an opportunity to introduce B96 to more listeners. It’s a major step: an opportunity to reach new listeners and bring my radio and television experience to a growing network of independent broadcasters.

My philosophy stays the same: every song earns its place. I follow Mediabase and watch records develop, but I also consider how the music, personalities, and imaging work together. The details matter.

B96 remains locally owned through CDB Media Group of Texas and independently programmed by me for the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.

One reason I’m joining Audilous is to help B96 grow as a business. Through its work with Oat Soda, Audilous is developing AI-assisted tools to organize reports and find potential local advertisers, with people reviewing outreach and handling relationships.

For B96, that could mean connecting with DFW businesses and bringing in revenue to cover operating costs and invest in the station. Another proposed initiative would let broadcasters choose whether to license their recorded voices to AI companies, with permission and payment terms agreed to first. These plans are still developing, and B96 hasn’t adopted every service.

I’m excited to help shape the next generation of digital radio. As Director of Operations, I’ll bring practical broadcasting experience, help solve problems, and brainstorm with station owners. I won’t be handing down playlists, dictating how every hour should sound, or telling stations what contests to run. These stations are independently owned and operated, and I respect that independence.

Speaking of contests, joining Audilous brings opportunities for both local and national prizes—including something that could give your bank account a boost. Stay tuned for details!

Thank you for listening and helping me build B96 from the ground up. I’m proud of this next step—and excited about what comes next.
