40 Creepy Mannequins Take Over Dallas

40 Creepy Mannequins Have Taken Over a Dallas Front Yard — And the Internet Is Freaking Out

An Oak Cliff homeowner has turned his front lawn into one of Dallas' strangest Halloween attractions, complete with moving mannequins, hospital gowns, and a seriously unsettling atmosphere.

Forget the inflatable ghosts and plastic skeletons. One Dallas homeowner has taken Halloween decorating to an entirely different level, and the result is something straight out of a horror movie.

In Oak Cliff, 40 creepy mannequins have taken over a front yard, and some of them actually move.

The display is the work of Dallas artist Steven Novak, who's become known for creating elaborate and sometimes outrageous Halloween scenes outside his home.

10 hits in a row. Every hour.

This year, he's gone with something a little different.

40 Mannequins. One Very Creepy Front Yard.

Located along the 1400 block of Lansford Avenue in Oak Cliff, Novak's yard is filled with mannequins dressed in hospital gowns.

They're all standing in the same eerie position, staring toward a bright light coming from the front porch.

And just when you think they're harmless, some of them start moving.

Motion sensors and electric motors allow certain mannequins to spin when visitors get close. Add fog, music, and hospital gowns blowing in the wind, and you've got a scene that's unsettling even by Halloween standards.

But here's where things get even stranger.

According to WFAA, Novak gave the mannequins hospital identification bracelets featuring the names of his ex-girlfriends.

Yes, really.

Millions Are Watching

The bizarre display isn't just getting attention from neighbors.

A TikTok video of the Halloween setup has attracted more than 3 million views, turning one Oak Cliff front yard into a viral attraction.

And this isn't Novak's first Halloween masterpiece.

Previous displays have included a swinging headless mannequin, fake blood, and other over-the-top scenes that have made his home a neighborhood Halloween destination.

This year's version trades some of the gore for something arguably more disturbing: dozens of silent figures staring at a mysterious light.

Would You Walk Past This House After Dark?

With Halloween coming up Saturday, October 31, the Oak Cliff display is another reminder that some of the Metroplex's most unusual attractions aren't inside haunted houses or theme parks.

Sometimes they're sitting in somebody's front yard.

If you're curious enough to see it for yourself, the display is on the 1400 block of Lansford Avenue in Dallas. Remember, it's a residential neighborhood, so be respectful of nearby homes and property.

And here's the real question:

Would you walk past 40 moving mannequins after dark? Or would you cross the street?
