Grapevine's Post Malone Set to Close Out FIFA World Cup After North Texas Takes Center Stage
North Texas native Post Malone is getting one more chance to shine on the world's biggest stage.
The Grapevine-raised superstar has been announced as the headliner for the closing ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final on Sunday, bringing a hometown connection to the tournament that has already put Dallas-Fort Worth in the global spotlight.

While the championship match will be played at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, the tournament has had deep ties to North Texas. AT&T Stadium in Arlington hosted a tournament-high nine matches, including a semifinal, while Dallas served as one of FIFA's primary host cities. The International Broadcast Center for the World Cup was also based in downtown Dallas, making DFW a central hub throughout the month-long event.
Now, a hometown artist is helping close the biggest sporting event on the planet.
Post Malone, who grew up in Grapevine before becoming one of the world's biggest music stars, will headline the pre-match closing ceremony. The celebration will also feature Jennifer Hudson, Nicole Scherzinger, Robbie Williams, Laura Pausini and special appearances from Tom Cruise and IShowSpeed.
The performance caps off a remarkable year for the Texas-born artist, who continues to blend country, pop and hip-hop while remaining one of music's biggest global draws.
For Dallas-Fort Worth fans, it's another reminder that even as the World Cup heads to its championship match on the East Coast, North Texas will still have a hometown representative front and center before the final whistle.
